Casa Bolognani, 2014
I drove into the small town of San Jorge right after lunch, at siesta time. I found a guy washing his car, so I got out and introduced myself, showed him my photo- graphs, and asked if there was any old store “working as it used to be.” He didn’t hesitate and pointed me in the direction of Casa Bolognani. I drove four blocks and parked in the shadows next to an abandoned gas pump and napped until the shop opened. The floors were actually of stamped earth. I was happy to find out that Bolognani’s son will continue once his father is gone, keeping alive this shop that also serves as a meeting point where locals can hang out and socialize.
